Look a little closer

The character
of a material.

Fibre, construction and pile all shape a rug’s surface. Explore the details together, then check the care instructions for the individual design.

01 / Composition

Know what’s in the weave.

Read the complete material description. A wool blend is different from pure wool. If fibre percentages matter to your choice and are not listed, ask us before ordering.

02 / Construction

Look beyond the pattern.

Machine-woven, hand-woven and hand-tufted describe how a rug is made. Check the selected product’s specification and detail photographs; a pattern alone cannot tell you the construction.

03 / Pile

Consider the height.

Use the stated pile height to check door clearance and the furniture around it. Think about the complete placement, including any underlay you plan to use.

Care, with confidence

Follow the label.
Protect the piece.

Care requirements depend on the finished product, not just its fibre. Keep the manufacturer’s instructions with your order information.

For washable designs

Check the permitted temperature, cycle and drying method. Confirm that both the rug’s size and weight suit your washing machine. A larger rug may need a different cleaning arrangement.

Before cleaning or treating

Read the care label before using a cleaning product or machine. If instructions are missing or unclear, contact us before starting. Fibre content alone does not establish stain resistance.

For a specific room or requirement

Ask about the individual product if you need underfloor-heating compatibility, outdoor use or a particular performance rating. We will help you check the specification.
