Give your room
the right proportions.
Start with the furniture, then measure the rug. Mark your chosen outline with removable tape and walk around it before deciding.
Bring the seating together.
Place the front feet of your sofa and chairs on the rug, or choose a larger rug to hold the whole seating arrangement.
- Measure the seating area, including the coffee table.
- Check the path around the furniture and any opening doors.
- Compare your taped outline with the product’s available sizes.
A softer place to land.
Think about where you step out of bed and how far you want the rug to extend beyond the foot.
- Measure from both sides and the foot of the bed.
- Allow space for bedside tables, drawers and doors.
- Consider separate bedside rugs if a larger rug won’t suit the layout.
Leave room for the chairs.
The rug needs to work when everyone is seated and when they stand up.
- Pull each chair out as you would to leave the table.
- Mark where the back legs reach on every side.
- Measure that full outline before choosing a size.
Measure twice.
Choose once.
For runners, check the clear walking space and every doorway. For round rugs, diameter means the distance straight across the centre.
Check pile height, door clearance and any manufacturing tolerance if the fit is tight. Images may show a different size or shape; your selected option determines your order.
